Satellite image

This satellite image was taken today. The area is Dove Bugt and Danmarkshavn. In 14 days I will hopefully be able to sail in these fjords on the cruise I am guiding to NE-Greenland...

This is the Daneborg area, HQ of the Sirius sled patrol, no ice...

Finally this is the Southern part of the National park and Mestersvig, no ice...

articles from NE-Greenland

This summer the Danish navy has been roaming the coast-line of NE-Greenland with their vessel, visiting several historical places :D

Unfortunately the articles are all in Danish...

departure getting closer...

The time of my departure to NE-Greenland is getting closer. On September 6th I will be boarding the expedition vessel MV Fram, which is a cruise-ship belonging to Hurtigruten. I will be on board the vessel for 14 days as a guide, lecturer and a local-man.
The planned route is starting in Longyearbyen, Svalbard and will follow the ice-edge of the pack-ice to Danmarkshavn in NE-Greenland along the coast to Sirius, Daneborg down to Sirius, Ella Ø, Mestersvig, Scoresbysund and fianlly to Isafjørdur, Iceland and the trip ends in Reykjavik, Iceland.

This is a trip I very much look forward too, as I love the ship and the crew and this area of Greenland will always be in my heart as I have spent a very long time there as a child and later on with the Sirius, sledge patrol...

Updates will follow during the trip (if the internet connection works ;0))
